WHY USE DRONES?

Here's just a few reasons we use drones:
 

1) lightweight. our drones are under 2kg which means we can operate in the Open catgory. With the A2 COFC certifcate we can fly close to buildings to capture high qaulity imagery and video.​

2) Cameras. We are able to capture high quality images up to 48MP in resolution. We can also capture 4k video at up to 60FPS.
3) Stabilised. Modern drones utilise GPS signals to establish their exact location and maintain position with no input from the controller. Cameras are mounted to a gimbal. This results in incredibly stable footage, even in light winds.​

4) Flight time. Depending on which drone we deploy, a single battery can give anywhere from 20-40 minutes flight time on each battery. This allows us to work efficiently without the constant need to land and change batteries.​

5) Obstacle avoidance. Our drones are equpiied with optical avoidance sensors. giving both a visual and audible warning to the pilot.

ARE YOU LICENSED AND INSURED?
A drone does not require a 'licence' as such. However all drones must be registered and display an 'OPERATOR ID'
that can be clearly seen. If a drone weighs more than 249g, a 'FLYER ID' is also required. Our drone pilots carry both.

We also hold the A2 Certificate of Competency which allows drones of up to 2kg in weight to fly closers to buildings.

We carry insurance to EC785/2004 as required by the CAA for any commercial work.

WHAT DRONES DO YOU OPERATE?
Currently we use the DJI mini 3 Pro and the DJI Air 3. These are both very competent drones. They are also light enough that we can operate them in the 'OPEN CATEGORY' This means we can fly closer to structures and people than heavier drones operating in the 'SPECIFIC CATEGORY'

HOW MUCH DO YOU CHARGE?
Cost depends on the service required. A standard roof inspection of a terraced residential building currently costs arond £80

Creative media work is charged depending on the work required. Several factors such as the type of shots needed, the drone used, location and length of time all have to be taken into consideration.

WE LIVE NEAR AN AIRPORT. CAN YOU STILL FLY?

Yes work in Flight Restriction Zones or 'FRZ's' is usually possible. A request has to be made to the controller of the specific FRZ. Details such as flight location, height, drone details and length of flight need to be registered. Once a request has been made, it can take several days to receive clearance. If permission is granted, the flight can take place. Some FRZ controllers charge a fee, this will be discussed prior to any work taking place.
